3x3 Basketball

Fast-paced and spectacular, 3x3 basketball offers high-octane action. This shortened form of the game is basketball as you’ve never experienced it before! A hoop, a half-court and just six players - with music and a breakneck pace, 3x3 is part of authentic urban culture.

3x3 is simple and flexible enough to be played almost anywhere by anybody – indoors or out, it's no surprise it is the number one urban team sport in the world.

It is basically the three-a-side version of basketball, played on one basket, in shortened, 10-minute games. All you need is a hoop, a half-court and six players.

It's basketball in its most basic, accessible form.

3x3 basketball became an Olympic discipline in 2017 and made its debut at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.

The inaugural 3x3 competition gripped the nation as Team England’s 3x3 men claimed gold, and the women silver in front of a packed Smithfield Arena, as millions watched at home.

3x3 will make its debut at the School Games National Finals in 2024. The Ball Park at Loughborough University will be transformed from a blank canvas into a vibrant venue and, in collaboration with British Wheelchair Basketball, will be the home of the 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball competitions.
